New York, New York – February 23, 2011 – Manhattan bankruptcy lawyer Stephen Kass, Esq. announced today the recent settlement of a major Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
According to the Crain’s New York article:
“The Amish Market grocery store at 53 Park Place in TriBeCa filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday. One of four Amish Markets in the city, the gourmet store had been targeted by City Council members and worker advocacy groups who protested outside the shop last year over management’s labor practices. Management had been fighting a union organizing campaign.”
“The bankruptcy filing has no effect on the other stores”, says attorney Stephen Kass, who is representing the TriBeCa store. “The business itself makes money and is profitable,” he said. “The bankruptcy has to do with tax issues.”
